"TJ made a very important purchase decision seemless to us. We enjoyed his professionalism and his desire to provide us with the best possible service. As a 3rd time new car buyer at your location, people like TJ make the difference, and is one of the reasons we decide to puchase at your dealership. Personable and professional! Can't get any better than that!"

"I evaluated different dealers looking for my Jeep. Huffines - Josh Dulock was the only one taking real interest on listening to what kind of features I needed in terms of priorities and must haves; then trying to find the best jeep according to my needs. This was a great approach and was very helpful and friendly. He made an effort to get me a set of wheels that I really liked. Overall a great salesman. I was very satisfied with his service."

"Lyon was awesome to work with. No games. No gimmicks. I knew what I wanted and I knew what I was willing to spend. Lyon searched all over the metroplex and found me exactly what I was looking for BEFORE I ever stepped foot into the dealership. He was easy to work with. I would definitely recommend him to my friends and family."

"The new car purchase at this dealership was wonderful, largely due to Bruce Chatterjee, our salesman! Who put in alot of effort to complete our new car and trade transaction to our complete satisfaction. He was a very delightful individual with a sincere caring attitude to do his best on our behalf. We will most certainly return to Huffines in Lewisville in about 2-3 years to trade again. It will be important to us to have Bruce be our salesman once again and hopefully he will still be there! Thanks Bruce!"

Jeep reveals annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari concepts

Jeep has unveiled its annual spate of concepts before the Easter Jeep Safari. Those start with the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Concept (below left), complete with the company's EcoDiesel V6 engine. Designers threw in a set of 35-inch Mickey Thompson tires wrapped around 17-inch Rubicon wheels, and a set of custom fender flares help keep all that rubber under wraps.

Meanwhile, the Wrangler Mopar Recon (below right) packs a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 good for 470 horsepower. All that grunt gets to the ground via a five-speed automatic transmission and a set of a Dana 60 axles frond and rear with 4.10 gears. The Recon also makes use of a 4.5-inch prototype long-arm kit and a set of prototype eight-lug bead lock wheels.

The Wrangler Stitch (below left) builds on the momentum of the Wrangler Pork Chop Concept. Engineers once again set out to strike as much weight as possible from the vehicle, and actually managed to trim the curb weight down to 3,000 pounds. That effort has given the machine the same power to weight ratio as the Grand Cherokee SRT. Plenty of carbon fiber, door deletes and a chrome moly roll cage all help trim those pounds, and a set of DanyTrac Pro Rock 44 axles with 4.88 gears and ARB lockers front and rear let this machine scramble over whatever is in its path.

The Wrangler Sand Trooper II (very top) gets its grunt from a 5.7-liter Hemi and puts all 400 pound-feet of torque to the ground via a set of eight-lug portal axles. That hardware allows the Sand Trooper II to run 40-inch tires.

Jeep took a different approach with the Wrangler Flattop (above middle), however. With an upscale appearance, the Flattop boasts a chopped windowless hard top that shortens the machine in height by a full two inches. Designers also cut out the B pillar for a massive side opening. Katzkin leather seating indoors helps offer up a bit more refinement, and the Warn Zeon winch and 37-inch Mickey Thompson tires give the rig some added capability off road.

Finally, the Wrangler Slim (above right) is likely the most accessible of the whole bunch, showing off exactly what can be built out of a Wrangler with a little patience on a budget. The Slim features a 3.6-liter V6, axles with a 3.73 ratio, 17-inch prototype wheels and a 10th-Anniversary Rubicon front bumper. Rock rails and a two-inch lift help get the Slim off the ground.

"Over the last 15 years I have purchased around 7 new vehicles from the Huffines auto dealerships, most recently two Jeep wranglers. One was a 4 door Rubicon and the other a 2 door sport. While the first purchase had some issues our second was flawless. The Huffines staff bent over backwards to put us in our second new jeep. For our second jeep, we initially wanted gecko, then commando green and we settled on the Deep Cherry. Through the process the staff was patient and took the color changes in stride. Unfortunately, Deep Cherry is no longer in production plus we wanted a manual transmission which made the search difficult. While searching on the internet my wife and I saw a deep cherry red 2 door with a soft top at Huffines in Plano ---- I sent an email to Steve asking if that one was still available. The next day I received an email with pictures of the jeep and it was now in Lewisville waiting for us !! I stopped by the next day and took it for a spin; once I returned from the test drive we spent just a few minutes negotiating a price. I ask Steve if it would be ok to wait until the next day so my wife would be present and he replied he would hold it as long as I needed. My wife and I showed up the next day, spent just a few minutes with finance and we were done! When we took delivery the Jeep looked as if it was just driven off the showroom floor. I want to thank Mike Biggers, Steve Bain and Josh Dulock for such excellent service. I look forward to doing business with ya'll in the future."

NBC Universal Previews the Cars of Fast & Furious 6

With a commercial during the Super Bowl, NBC Universal began its campaign to conquer the world's box office with the sixth episode in the ongoing Fast & Furiousfilm franchise. That campaign continued on Sunday, March 3, when the studio invited select press to picture car coordinator Dennis McCarthy's shop in anti-glamorous Sun Valley, California to view vehicles featured in Fast & Furious 6. "Select press" included us.

Let's start by putting these cars in the context of the latest trailer for the new movie that opens May 24.

How critical an eye you want to apply to that trailer is up to you, but it's obvious that the filmmakers aren't skimping on vehicular mayhem this time either. And they've cast an eclectic group of cars to supercharge the action.

Here's a quick look at the field. More extensive features will follow.

Dom's 1969 Dodge Daytona
Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) may live life a quarter-mile at a time, but he might be better off in measuring the worth of his existence in the number of Dodge Chargers he destroys along the way. This time, however, he's pulled himself out of the 1970 models he has traditionally favored and planted his well-oiled butt in the driver seat of a 1969 Charger Daytona.

No actual Charger Daytonas were used in production of the film, and the movie's machines are subtly different from the legendary winged warrior. The nose is shorter, the deck wing is cut down lower and the pop-up headlights are gone in favor of fixed units behind plexiglas. "Fixing the headlight doors after every stunt was going to be too much hassle," said McCarthy.

As to power, under the hood of the seven Daytonas built for the film McCarthy installed General Motors LS3 small-block V8s.

2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8
At the end of Fast Five, Dominic (Vin Diesel) and Brian (Paul Walker) are chilling in some tropical paradise when they decide to start an impromptu race between Dom's Challenger SRT8 and Brian's Nissan GT-R. The sixth movie starts at the moment of that chase, and so Dom's late-model Challenger is back, too.

Essentially a brand-new car, the Challenger has widened front fenders, fender extensions in back and oversize wheels and tires. But mechanically, it's stock including the 6.4-liter Hemi V8 under its hood.

 2012 Dodge Charger SRT8
All these cars do is pull down a cargo plane... and burst through its nose. The production used 10 of these new cars powered by the stock 6.4-liter Hemi V8.

Chrysler Announces Special Edition 2014 SRT Viper

Chrysler Group LLC released details Monday about a new special edition 2014 SRT Viper.

The street-legal 2014 SRT Viper Time Attack, or TA, package is specifically built for the "performance enthusiast driver who likes to exercise their machines at the more than 150 road-race courses around North America,” officials said.

“Our engineers revised the suspension settings to refocus the Viper specifically for track duty, using a blend of components from the GTS and the SRT models, add in the extensively developed aero package and the new Time Attack package is born,” said Ralph Gilles, President and CEO – SRT Brand and Motorsports, Chrysler, in a statement.

Chrysler said the vehicle was configured in-house by the Auburn Hills-based automaker’s SRT team in collaboration with professional road racers.

The suspension on the 2014 SRT Viper TA is tuned and upgraded specifically for on-track usage and to maximize the performance.

Shock dampers, springs and road racing derived stabilizer bars have been retuned for optimal on-track performance. The standard aluminum structural X-brace is replaced with a lighter carbon fiber brace that effectively ties the four corners of the engine compartment together and contributes to the 50-percent increase in torsional rigidity and stiffness across the Viper lineup.

Under the hood of the 2014 SRT Viper TA remains the handcrafted, all-aluminum 8.4-liter, mid-front V10 overhead-valve engine. Performance ratings are 640 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque – the most torque of any naturally aspirated sports-car engine in the world.

Only 33 units of the 2014 SRT Viper TA in Crusher Orange will be built at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit, beginning in third quarter 2013.

The vehicle is set to make its debut next week at the 2013 New York International Auto Show, where a year ago, Chrysler debuted the 2013 SRT Viper.

We were orginally leaning toward a used Wrangler, but frankly with the pricing structure we cound not afford not to buy new. There were no games played, after working out most of the details, we met with Steve Blaine for a few minutes regarding our trade, a previous Huffines purchase and were able to close the deal. we were and are pleased with the deal and the vehicle."

Chrysler goes to Broadway, teams with 'Motown'

Chrysler Chief Marketing Officer Olivier Francois said the chance to help Motown creator Berry Gordy promote Motown: The Musical was an opportunity "we could not pass on."

The Auburn Hills, Mich., automaker and Gordy have formed a marketing partnership that has been called unprecedented on Broadway.

Chrysler is airing a commercial nationally with Gordy driving a Chrysler 300. The marketing campaign also includes a billboard in Times Square and other marketing support that the New York Times says has an estimated value of $6 million-$8 million.

"It's not 'Chrysler Presents Motown,' which is a sponsorship," said show co-producer Kevin McCollum. "Yes, Chrysler wants to sell cars, but they're putting a lot of dollars behind the emotional relationship of what Motown means to their company."

Francois said the idea to support the musical came out of meetings with Don Coleman, chairman and CEO of ad agency GlobalHue, and Doug Morris, CEO of Sony Music Entertainment.

"When you have an opportunity like this ... there is just one thing that you have to consider: Is it going to be just a partnership? Or is it something that goes deeper because it is true and meaningful?" Francois said.

Olivier Francois, Chrysler's chief marketing officer, is not afraid to take risks. "Chrysler needs to consolidate its brand positioning and push the statement a little bit further ... and the tie to Motown is perfect," he said.

The marketing partnership with the musical gave Chrysler a chance to link itself with music that represents Detroit at its peak of cultural influence.

"Chrysler needs to consolidate its brand positioning and push the statement a little bit further ... and the tie to Motown is perfect," Francois said. "Motown is about the heart and soul of Detroit. ... The soul is music and the heart is the automobile."

For the producers, Chrysler brought vast marketing resources that a musical could only dream of.

"Chrysler is also doing the city of Detroit a great service by attaching to this, taking the best of the best and reminding the world what can happen in Detroit," McCollum said.

Chrysler even created a special edition version of its Chrysler 300 sedan to accompany the campaign. The 2013 Chrysler 300 Motown Edition is scheduled to arrive by spring with a starting price of $33,990.

It includes a bright chrome front and rear fascia accents, mirror caps, door handles and 20-inch polished aluminum wheels. Inside, the special version of the Chrysler 300 includes 100 tracks from original Motown recording artists on a USB memory stick and a 10-speaker audio system.

Francois said he expects Chrysler will sell several thousand Chrysler 300 Motown Editions.

The marketing deal with Gordy also is the third version of Chrysler's groundbreaking Super Bowl commercial from 2011 with the "Imported from Detroit," theme.

In the Super Bowl ad, rap star Eminem ends the commercial when he says, "This is the Motor City, and this is what we do."

The second version was a commercial with hip-hop star and producer Dr. Dre that introduced a new sound system for Chrysler called Beats by Dr. Dre.

"This is L.A., and this is what we do," Dre says in that commercial.

In the 60-second spot with Gordy, the legendary Motown producer gets out of a white Chrysler 300 as he arrives in New York City and says: "We are Motown, and this is what we do."

But Francois said the Gordy version might be the final version of the theme.

"It is reminiscent (of the Super Bowl ad), and that is intentional. ... But I won't go any further down this path," Francois said. "We made a Detroit story, we made an L.A. story, and now we made a New York story. This is it."

Jeep at the 2013 Geneva International Motor Show

After a year of significant commercial success, Jeep returns to the 2013 Geneva Motor Show with three European premieres: the new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the new 2014 Jeep Compass and the new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary special-edition model. The three Geneva reveals represent a further expression of the brand’s constant evolution in terms of innovation, technological contents and performance.

The year 2012 was one of significant growth for Jeep, both in terms of sales and brand image. Jeep was one of the brands boasting the most consistent growth in Europe, with sales growing by almost 20 percent – a result that also allowed Jeep to set a new all-time global sales record by selling over 700,000 vehicles last year worldwide.

The 1056 square-meter Jeep exhibition area in Geneva is located in Hall 5. An extreme sandy off-road track and a modern urban skyline are the backgrounds chosen to communicate to visitors the extraordinary dynamic characteristics that belong to Jeep SUVs and their ability to express their personality in the most diverse environments: in the city as well as on challenging off-road trails.

The new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee is the star of the Jeep stand in Geneva. Already the most-awarded large-size SUV ever, Grand Cherokee features a new eight-speed automatic transmission. Available on the entire engine lineup, the new transmission significantly reduces consumption and emissions while improving acceleration and securing smoother gear shifting.

New exterior and interior design features characterize each trim level of the Jeep flagship in a unique way. News for the exterior include new bi-xenon headlamps offered as standard and boasting LED daytime running lights (DRLs), a new design for the wheels and new interior/exterior color combinations. The use of premium materials, such as Natura Plus leather and high-quality wood, as well as the introduction of a new three-spoke steering wheel deliver an exclusive character to the interior.

New contents are also offered in terms of infotainment, thanks to the new, advanced Uconnect system with 8.4-inch touchscreen and the all-new-for-the-brand 7-inch TFT customer configurable display cluster.

Legendary Jeep capability comes courtesy of two four-wheel-drive systems (Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Drive II), the Jeep Quadra-Lift air suspension and the Selec-Terrain traction management system.

The new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee offers the most advanced safety features, including updated Forward Collision Warning with Crash Mitigation and all-new Selec-Speed Control. Both complement the vehicle’s already rich array of standard active and passive safety systems.

The new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee will be introduced across European markets in the third quarter of 2013 and will be available in Laredo, Limited and Overland trim levels plus a more exclusive Summit top-of-the-range model.

Another European debut at the Jeep stand in Geneva is for the new 2014 Jeep Compass. Equipped with a new six-speed PowerTech automatic transmission, Compass boasts an updated exterior and a new, even more refined and comfortable cabin. Thanks to the smooth shifting allowed by the new gearbox, the 2014 Jeep Compass delivers improved driving performance. The new Compass also offers new safety features, including front-seat-mounted side air bags and ParkView rear backup camera, and a rich array of features for increased on-board comfort when driving in the city and on off-road trails.

Standard features include air conditioning, power/heated exterior mirrors, fog lamps, keyless entry, Cruise Control, a removable/rechargeable light, Electronic Stability Control, Electronic Roll Mitigation, Hill-Start Assist, anti-lock disc brakes and 60/40 fold-flat rear seat.

The new 2014 Jeep Compass will be introduced across Europe in the second half of 2013 in three different trim levels, including the already existing Sport and Limited and the all-new North model.

The new Rubicon 10th Anniversary special-edition model of the iconic Jeep Wrangler is also making its European debut at the Jeep stand in Geneva. Introduced to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Rubicon trim level – the most capable model in the Wrangler lineup and the most capable off-road production vehicle in its category ever – the new special-edition vehicle will be available as a two-door Wrangler or four-door Wrangler Unlimited, both powered by petrol or diesel powertrains.

The exterior of the new special-edition model feature unique styling cues that deliver to the iconic Jeep Wrangler an exclusive look, including an all-new dual-intake Power Dome hood and 17-inch Rubicon aluminum wheels painted black with polished faces and red Jeep Wrangler logo on the outside lip. The interior offers exclusive red leather seats with a Rubicon 10th Anniversary logo embroidered into the front seat backs. Red stitching adorns the central console and the leather steering wheel.

The new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition special-edition model will be introduced in Europe during the third quarter of 2013.
