Huffines Ram Dealership Event Raised Over $2,500 for the National FFA Organization, Benefitting 3 Local Area High Schools

$1,000 Scholarship Awarded to R.L. Turner Senior (FFA Student) Kym Reuscher

May 15, 2014, Lewisville, TX  - When the Ram Trucks Division announced a national fundraising opportunity to selected automobile dealers in support of America’s future farmers, DFW’s Huffines Ram dealership in Lewisville was eager to step up and participate. The fundraiser was implemented as a one-day, dealership Test Drive Event called “The Next Crop Project”. Ram’s "The Next Crop Project" test drive campaign was designed to further the attention that Ram brought to the importance of America's farmers with its "Farmer" video that aired during the 2013 Super Bowl broadcast, but turns the focus even more directly on the future leaders of agriculture. Ram previously donated $1Million to the FFA after views of the "Farmer" video reached a 10-million viewer milestone in less than a week.

Huffines Dodge/Ram of Lewisville and Ram Trucks donated $20 for each test drive taken at the dealership during the event, to the National FFA Organization (FFA) in support of local chapter leadership programs.  More than 120 dealers nationwide participated with local FFA chapters as part of Ram brand's ongoing support of the American farming industry.

Huffines partnered with 3 local High School/FFA Chapters, which included Lewisville, Marcus and R.L. Turner High School.  Huffines’ General Manager Steve Baine commented, “We decided to elevate the fundraiser and honor the students by turning it into a FFA Celebration Event.  We offered all guests a free lunch, fun family activities, free prizes for all the test drivers and even created a little extra competition with a $1,000 Scholarship contest for a deserving FFA student.”

In coordination with the dealership, the FFA students worked diligently to promote the test drive fundraiser. The students reached out to involve relatives, teachers and friends, and their efforts generated 126 Test Drives, netting an impressive total of $2,520 for the fundraiser.  The top student referring 21 individuals to take a test drive was Kym Reuscher, an FFA Senior at R.L. Turner High School.  Ms. Reuscher’s achievement resulted in a $1,000 Scholarship Award plus an additional $150 in spending cash awarded by the dealership.
